Led by the ENL Group, a Mauritian company specialising in real estate development, the smart city of Moka will bring out a new integrated and connected intelligent urban space. Based on a "citysmarting" concept, this project aims at strengthening and integrating residential, recreational and existing economic activities including world-class schools, hospitals, shopping and business centers, modern infrastructure as well as landscaped environment... The smart city of Moka, which will develop over a total area of 450 arpents in the heart of the island, will mobilise for the region an investment of 25 billions of Rs over the next ten years. Some 3 500 permanent direct jobs will be created in various clusters. This project was officially launched on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Vivéa Business Park in Moka, in the presence of the Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth and was certified smart city by the Board of Investment (BOI) Mauritius in November 2017.
