MaTontine is a fintech company from Senegal that provides financial services by digitizing its traditional savings groups. This digital financial services platform digitizes traditional savings groups (Tontines) to provide access to a range of financial and non-financial services (savings, credit, insurance, financial education, etc.) to financially excluded people in Africa. They work with organizations that are interested in the financial inclusion sector, but lack the expertise or platform, and are looking for a partner with an out-of-the-box solution to implement results-based solutions for excluded groups. All of the transactions on the platform are performed digitally thanks to mobile phones and mobile money in order to move toward a higher degree of financial inclusion among traditionally excluded.
