EduAir

Education 2.0 in Cameroon

Project description

First launched under the name of Kwiizi in 2015, the rebranded, EduAir is an innovative concept allowing the greatest number of people to access to education via difital technologies, with or without an Internet connection. To compensate inequalities of access to education and Internet in Cameroon, the startuper Yann Nkegne developed EduAirBox and EduAirPipeline, open and portable media libraries in the form of cases, giving free access to a wide range of educational content and offering an integrated communication system that can do without an Internet connection. Hence, users can make video calls within the local network (Wi-Fi) deployed by the Box. Each of these two tools answers very precise challenges according to their specific environment: EduairBow is meant to cover a school or a formation centre whereas EduAirPipeline is able to manage and interconnect several institutions. EduAir products have already been adopted by numerous higher education establishments, in particular the University of Douala and other private ones. Backed up by several partners such as Wikipedia, IPCortex, EduAir aims at expanding within the sub-area of Central Africa.
