Only 4% of Kenyans are insured by their employer. During unexpected events, the impossibility to cover their medical fees can heavily affect a family, or even a whole community. Inuka Papa offers a mobile platform on which the users can contract emergency loans and subscribe to health insurances. Targeting a low-income population, the application enables its users to benefit form a social security while contributing up to a few Kenyan shilling cents a day. The application is suitable with the mobile money system provided by m-pesa and the platform is funded throught the incomes generated by granted loans.
