Thanks to the partnership between the Nigerian giant of telecommunications MTN, the mobile insurance services organisation Salt & Einstein MTS and the National Health Insurance Programm (NHIS) the mobile micro-insurance Y'ello Health was launched in Nigeria in 2014. Its purpose is to allow the population to access to care more easily and at a cheaper price. To benefit from a family planning protection, pediatric and prenatal care as well the treatment of several diseases such as paludism, typhoid fever, minor infections, VIH AIDS and STI, but also small surgeries and ophtalmology, concerned people must pay 1 000 nairas (6,18 dollars) per month, via mobile banking payment or to be deducted from their communication credit.
