Project description
The Ministry of Health has launched an online portal in order to increase the efficiency and the transparency within the pharmaceutical industry. The portal is to ease the administration and the managaing of regulation services as well as that of the documents that the Ministry of Health has provided to companies involved in the manufacturing, importing, expoting and distributing fields of pharmaceutical products in Rwanda. The system also contributes in hastening the recording and inspecting process to access essential medecine for Rwandese people. The digitalised system cuts the time dedicated to the importation of pharmaceutical products down to two days. This rapidity is guaranteed by the fact that the portal is connected to a unique electronic access point in Rwanda, which decreases the time of transactions, eases the monitoring of exchanges, ensures a great coordination of the customs and enables more secure medecine inspections at the border. This system is at the initiative of the government of Rwanda, aiming at reducing trade barriers and improving the business environment.
