Project description
Launched in 2016, the U-report Senegal platform developed by the Senegalese Ministry of Youth, Employment and Citizen Construction in collaboration with Unicef and 18 youth associations in Senegal aims at conducting surveys on the participation of young people in the important and socio-political issues of Senegal, to mention only the quality of basic social services, access to education, health, environment or technology. Its purpose is to allow citizens to access a complete information on the opinion of Senegalese youth on the one hand, and to guide the fields of action of governmental and territorial decision makers, on the other hand. Specifically, the tool that relies on direct opinion, uses the SMS mobile technology, to send, each week, thematic questions to registered members which they also respond to by texting. The answers are then shared live with the general public on the U-Report website. The results will then draw a geographical analysis, and according to the age and sex of the respondents.
