Project description
Located in the Djidjole neighbourhood in Lome, Woelab is the very first fablab of Togo. Launched in 2012 under the impulsion of the architect Sénamé Koffé Agbodjinou and as part of the HubCity project of the african platform of architecture, Woelab acts as a conceiving and collaborative organism and an incubator for technological young shoots, and collaborates with research centres and design schools to promote innovation in Togo. From the very first year of this project, the Woelab hosted, coached, incubated and accelerated more than a ten-some startup projects with a high added-value such as the W.Afate project, first 3D printer made in Africa, entirely fabricated from electronic recycled waste, which was rewarded the NASA prize in 2013.
